Two substrates. One continuous finish.
The floor crossed plywood and concrete without a visible expansion joint. The builder reinforced and tied the timber side back towards the concrete to reduce differential movement, and the proposed build-up was reviewed and approved by the flooring manufacturer before installation. The green layer is primer; the smoothing compound is Stopgap.
Deliberately individual.
Premium herringbone laid on a non-traditional axis to suit the geometry rather than force every angle, reclaimed solid oak to the ground floor and a Neo Silk Platinum leopard-print stair carpet.
Preparation beneath the finish.
A St Albans HAF Haus-spec home included liquid DPM, smoothing compound and Karndean following a direct referral from Equibuild. A separate South Woodford refurbishment included ground-floor installation over underfloor heating.
